Mousline

Mousline is an iconic brand of instant mashed potato, born in 1963 in Picardy. The idea is straightforward: take carefully selected potatoes and process them smartly, so you can serve a creamy mash in just a few minutes. According to the brand, the potatoes are steam-cooked, pressed in a giant ricer and then gently dried into light flakes. Those flakes are then finished with a short, recognisable ingredient list. For products such as L’Originale, Mousline highlights that the recipe contains no colourings and no added aromas; its warm yellow tone comes from a touch of turmeric, while rosemary extracts are used as an antioxidant.

Origin and proximity are central to the story. Mousline communicates that its potatoes are 100% French and, for L’Originale, they are mostly harvested within about 30 km of the factory in the Hauts-de-France. A shorter chain supports close cooperation with local growers and helps the brand protect freshness and consistency, from field to factory, from flake to plate.
