Pickwick Thee

Pickwick

Pickwick is a tea brand that feels like a familiar ritual for many people in the Netherlands. Not only because it has been found in kitchen cupboards, canteens and on breakfast tables for generations, but above all because Pickwick connects tea with moments of calm. For Pickwick, a cup of tea is more than hot water with flavour: it is a pause, a moment to unwind, a little attention for yourself or for someone else.

Pickwick’s history goes back to the tea trade of Egbert Douwes and his wife Akke, who opened a small grocery shop in Joure in 1753. Tea was already being sold there under the name De Witte Os. This later grew into Douwe Egberts tea, and in 1937 the tea brand was given the name Pickwick. The name was inspired by The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens and gives the brand its recognisable, slightly English character.

Today, Pickwick is above all a brand of choice. For the morning there is black tea or English blend, for a fresh break green tea or lemon, for a fruity moment strawberry, forest fruit or mango, and for the evening decaffeinated herbal tea, rooibos or blends with ginger and spices. In this way, Pickwick moves along with the day: from waking up to relaxing, from a work break to a quiet moment on the sofa.

In short, Pickwick is a brand that combines tradition with everyday convenience. With a wide range of black tea, green tea, fruit blends, rooibos and herbal teas, Pickwick offers a suitable flavour for almost every moment. It is familiar, warm and approachable: tea that you do not only drink to quench your thirst, but to consciously take a moment for yourself.
