Mutti Polpa Finely Chopped Tomato Pulp with Basil is made from tomatoes grown in the Italian sun and processed within 24 hours after harvest to preserve the pure taste of sun-ripened tomatoes. This polpa contains finely chopped tomato pieces with fresh basil and is 100% Italian. To make polpa, the tomatoes are peeled, the seeds are removed and the flesh is finely chopped. Mutti polpa combines tomato juice with small tomato pieces. Because polpa contains more tomato juice than passata, it is ideal for dishes with longer cooking times or high-temperature cooking, such as pasta sauces and soups. For 1 kg of polpa, 5 kg of tomatoes are used.
