This Gouda cheese from Reypenaer is aged for one year and has an intense, lingering flavour and aroma, combined with a smooth, creamy texture. Its aromas are lightly creamy, savoury, pleasantly fruity and nutty. The cheese comes beautifully presented in an elegant box with an information leaflet.
Reypenaer is a Gouda made the way it used to be: with craftsmanship, patience and careful attention to the ageing process. While many Gouda cheeses today are produced industrially and brought to market at a young age, Reypenaer is given all the time it needs to fully develop its distinctive character.
This cheese is traditionally aged for one year in Reypenaer’s historic cheese warehouse. Natural fluctuations in temperature and humidity allow it to develop the rich, complex flavour for which Reypenaer is renowned.
Although this is the youngest cheese in the Reypenaer range, it already offers remarkable intensity and depth. Its full, powerful flavour reveals beautifully layered aromas and leaves a pleasantly long-lasting finish. An exceptional tasting cheese for those who appreciate characterful, traditionally aged Gouda.
